Facile generation of highly durable thiol-functionalized polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane based superhydrophobic

摘要: In this study, a durable superhydrophobic/superoleophilic melamine foam was fabricated by a facile and rapid one-step thiol-ene click chemistry and Michael addition reaction, which demonstrated excellent robustness in oil/water separation. First, 1H, 1H, 2H-perfluoro-1-hexene reacted with thiol-functionalized polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane via the thiol-ene click chemistry to obtain a fluorinated thiol-functionalized polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane solution. Subsequently, the melamine foam was immersed to the solution system to form nanoaggregates on the melamine foam surface by the Michael addition reaction in the presence of ultraviolet light. The micro/nano rough structure and low surface energy of the nanoaggregates layer endowed the pristine melamine foam with superhydrophobicity; the water contact angle was greater than 150°. More importantly, the as-prepared melamine foam could withstand harsh conditions, such as a corrosive solution environment, strong ultraviolet light, mechanical compression, high and low temperature exposure, and ultrasonic washing. Driven by gravity, the as-prepared melamine foam could efficiently separate the oil/water mixtures and maintain 98% separation efficiency at high and low temperatures. In addition, it maintained the desirable absorption capability in different oil/organic solvents even after 15 absorption cycles. Accordingly, this facile, low-cost, and robust one-step method provides important support for the superhydrophobic oil/water separation field.

Cube-octameric silsesquioxane (POSS)-capped magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles for the efficient removal

摘要: Octavinyl polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS) was polymerized on the surface of Fe O nanoparticles (NPs) and then the NPs were functionalized with carboxylic acid groups using thiol-ene click reactions with thioglycolic acid. The as-prepared Fe O @POSS-COOH magnetic hybrid NPs had mesoporous structures with an average particle diameter of 15 nm and a relatively high specific surface area of 447 m ∙g . Experimental results showed that 4 mg of Fe O @POSS-COOH NPs efficiently adsorbed and removed methylene blue from water at 5 min. This is due to the presence of both carboxylic acid and pendant vinyl groups on the Fe O @POSS-COOH NPs. These NPs could be easily withdrawn from water within a few seconds under moderate magnetic field and showed high stability in acid and alkaline aqueous mediums.

摘要:

The study aims to devise means of obtaining polyhedral linkages for homothetic deployment of polyhedral shapes by embedding planar link groups in faces of the polyhedral shape of interest. The questions of which polyhedral shapes may be suitable for such a purpose and what are the compatibility conditions for spatially assembling planar link groups are addressed. Homohedral and tangential polyhedral shapes are found to be suitable for the task and some examples of linkages are worked out.

Continuous amino-functionalized University of Oslo 66 membranes as efficacious polysulfide barriers for

摘要: The shuttle effect of soluble polysulfides is a serious problem impeding the development of lithium−sulfur batteries. Herein, continuous amino-functionalized University of Oslo 66 membranes supported on carbon nanotube films are proposed as ion-permselective interlayers that overcome these issues and show outstanding suppression of the polysulfide shuttle effect. The proposed membrane material has appropriately sized pores, and can act as ionic sieves and serve as barriers to polysulfides transport while allowing the passage of lithium ions during electrochemical cycles, thereby validly preventing the shuttling of polysulfides. Moreover, a fast catalytic conversion of polysulfides is also achieved with the as-developed interlayer. Therefore, lithium−sulfur batteries with this interlayer show a desirable initial capacity of 999.21 mAh·g–1 at 1 C and a durable cyclic stability with a decay rate of only 0.04% per cycle over 300 cycles. Moreover, a high area capacity of 4.82 mAh·cm–2 is also obtained even under increased sulfur loading (5.12 mg·cm–2) and a lean-electrolyte condition (E/S = 4.8 μL·mg–1).

Improved “cure on demand” of aromatic bismaleimide with thiol triggered by retro-Diels-Alder reaction

摘要: This study focuses on the synthesis of new liquid aromatic bismaleimide monomers in order to improve self-curing on demand (SCOD) systems previously based on aliphatic bismaleimides. These SCOD systems are based on Diels-Alder (DA)/retro-DA reactions. The syntheses of new different aromatic bismaleimides with ester and amide bonds are presented. These maleimides have been protected using DA reaction and characterized by H NMR analysis to determine protection rate and diastereomer ratios. The retro-DA reactions of both aromatic and aliphatic DA adducts in presence of thiol molecules were studied. Kinetic analysis was monitored by H NMR and compared to model study. Finally, both aromatic and aliphatic bismaleimides-based polymers were synthesized with 2-mercaptoethyl ether and thermal properties of polymers were compared. The glass transition temperature values ranged from –20 °C to 14 °C and very good thermal stabilities were observed (up to 300 °C).

摘要: Amino-functionalized zirconia was synthesized by the co-condensation method using zirconium butanol and 3-aminopropyltriethoxy silane for the simultaneous removal of various impurities from aqueous 30% H2O2 solution. The results of Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) and Zeta potential showed that the content of N in amino-functionalized zirconia increased with the added amount of 3-aminopropyltriethoxy silane. Accordingly, the removal efficiency of total oxidizable carbon, phosphate and metallic ions from the H2O2 solution increased. The adsorbent with an N content of 1.62% exhibited superior adsorption performance. The removal efficiency of 82.7% for total oxidizable carbon, 34.2% for phosphate, 87.1% for Fe3+, 83.2% for Al3+, 55.1% for Ca2+ and 66.6% for Mg2+, with a total adsorption capacity of 119.6 mg·g–1, could be achieved. The studies conducted using simulated solutions showed that the adsorption process of phosphate on amino-functionalized zirconia is endothermic and spontaneous, and the behaviors could be well described by the pseudo-second-order model and Langmuir model with a maximum adsorption capacity of 186.7 mg·g–1. The characterizations of the spent adsorbents by Zeta potential, FTIR and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy revealed that the adsorption mechanism of phosphate is predominantly electrostatic attraction by the protonated functional groups and complementary ligand exchange with zirconium hydroxyl groups.

Graphene-like -BN supported polyhedral NiS/NiS nanocrystals with excellent photocatalytic performance

摘要: Human health is deteriorating due to the effluent containing heavy metal ions and organic dyes. Hence, photoreduction of Cr(VI) to Cr(III) and degradation of rhodamine B (RhB) using a novel photocatalyst is particularly important. In this work, h-BN/NiS2/NiS composites were prepared via a simple solvothermal method and a double Z-scheme heterojunction was constructed for efficiently removing RhB and Cr(VI). The 7 wt-% h-BN/NiS2/NiS composites were characterized via a larger specific surface area (15.12 m2·g–1), stronger light absorption capacity, excellent chemical stability, and high yield of electrons and holes. The experimental result indicated that the photoreduction efficiency of the 7 wt-% h-BN/NiS2/NiS photocatalyst achieved 98.5% for Cr(VI) after 120 min, which was about 3 times higher than that of NiS2/NiS (34%). However, the removal rate of RhB by the 7 wt-% h-BN/NiS2/NiS photocatalyst reached 80%. This is due to the double Z-scheme heterojunction formed between NiS2/NiS and h-BN, which improved the charge separation efficiency and transmission efficiency. Besides, the influence of diverse photogenerated electron and hole scavengers upon the photoreduction of Cr(VI) was studied, the results indicated that graphene-like h-BN promoted transportation of photoinduced charges on the surface of the h-BN/NiS2/NiS photocatalyst via the interfacial effects.

Sulfonic acid-functionalized mesoporous silica catalyst with different morphology for biodiesel production

摘要: Sulfonic acid functionalized mesoporous silica based solid acid catalysts with different morphology were designed and fabricated. The synthesized materials were characterized by various physicochemical and spectroscopic techniques like scanning electron microscope-energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, Brunauer–Emmett–Teller surface area, thermogravimetric analysis and n-butylamine acidity. The shape of catalysts particles plays an important role in its activity. The sulfonic acid functionalized mesoporous silica catalysts of spherical shape and the cube shape were assessed for catalytic activity in biodiesel production. The catalytic biodiesel production reaction over the catalysts were studied by esterification of free fatty acid, oleic acid with methanol. The effect of various reaction parameters such as catalyst concentration, acid/alcohol molar ratio, catalyst amount, reaction temperature and reaction time on catalytic activity were investigated to optimize the conditions for maximum conversion. It was sulfonated cubic shape mesoporous silica which exhibited better activity as compared to the spherical shape silica catalysts. Additionally, the catalyst was regenerated and reused up to three cycles without any significant loss in activity. The present catalysts exhibit superior performance in biodiesel production and it can be used for the several biodiesel feedstock’s that are rich in free fatty acids.

摘要: A novel method for the preparation of -cyclodextrin grafted graphene oxide (GO- -CD) has been developed. The GO- -CD was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, C NMR spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy and thermogravimetric analysis. The ability of GO- -CD to remove fuchsin acid from solution was also studied. The GO- -CD had an excellent adsorption capacity for fuchsin acid and could be recycled and reused. The adsorption capacities of GO- -CD for other dye pollutants such as methyl orange and methylene blue were also investigated. The absorption capacities for the three dyes are in the order: fuchsin acid>methylene blue>methyl orange.

摘要: A palladium catalyst supported on 2-aminopyridine functionalized cellulose was synthesized and fully characterized by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy, transmission electron microscope, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis and X-ray photoelectron spectrometry. This catalyst can be applied in the Suzuki cross-coupling reaction of aryl halides with arylboronic acids in 50% ethanol to afford biaryls in?good yields, and easily recycled by simple filtration after reaction without the loss of metal Pd.

Synthesis and properties of novel organogelators functionalized with 5-iodo-1,2,3-triazole and azobenzene

摘要: Two series of 5-iodo-1,2,3-triazole derivatives containing azobenzene group(s) were synthesized and their gelling properties were tested. Those containing two azobenzene groups ( series) have better gelation performance than those containing one azobenzene group ( series). The microstructure of organogels and the driving force of gelation were investigated by scanning electron microscopy and H NMR, respectively. It was found that π-π stacking, van der Waals interaction, and dipole-dipole interaction were the main forces of gelation. All the tested organogels are photoresponsive and those from series are smarter than that from series. Henry - diagrams of compounds , , and were constructed on the basis of their gelation performance and the Hansen solubility parameters of related solvents. The constructed Henry - diagrams can be used to estimate the behavior of three compounds in any untested solvent.

Effective and selective adsorption of uranyl ions by porous polyethylenimine-functionalized carboxylated

摘要: Composite materials have elicited much interest because of their superior performance in the removal of toxic and radioactive uranyl ions from aqueous solutions. With polyethyleneimine as a functional group, carboxylated chitosan as a matrix, and oxidizing activated carbon as a nanofiller, this study synthesized a novel environment-friendly polyethylenimine-functionalized carboxylated chitosan/oxidized activated charcoal (PCO) biocomposite with a unique three-dimensional porous structure. PCO was synthesized through an easy chemical cross-linking method. Detailed characterization certified the formation of the unique three-dimensional porous structure. The obtained PCO was used to remove uranyl ions from an aqueous solution, demonstrating the maximum adsorption capacity of 450 mg·g . The adsorption capacity of PCO decreased by less than 7.51% after five adsorption-desorption cycles. PCO exhibited good adsorption selectivity ( = 3.45 × 10 mL·g ) for uranyl ions. The adsorption mechanism of PCO was also discussed. The material showed good potential for application in the treatment of wastewater containing uranyl ions.

通过官能团化处理提高碳纳米管对超高性能混凝土抗冲击性能的增强效果 Article

摘要:

使用碳纳米管替代微米级纤维可增强超高性能混凝土(ultra-high performance concrete, UHPC)的抗冲击性能,但碳纳米管的弱润湿性和低分散性以及碳纳米管与UHPC之间的弱界面结合限制了其增强效果的充分发挥。因此,本文拟通过官能团化处理提高碳纳米管对UHPC抗冲击性能的增强效果。研究结果表明,通过碳纳米管的官能团化处理可使C‒S‒H 凝胶中的Si‒O‒Ca‒O‒Si 配位键发生断裂,进而在UHPC基体中形成以碳纳米管为中心的增强网络。此外,掺入官能团化碳纳米管(尤其羧基化碳纳米管)可显著降低骨料-基体界面宽度甚至消除界面,提高UHPC 结构整体性。另外,复合官能团化碳纳米管可降低UHPC的孔隙率及孔隙(尤其纳米级孔隙)尺寸,进而诱导UHPC内部C‒S‒H 凝胶收缩,从而增加凝胶内部水化产物的结构致密性。由于上述官能团化碳纳米管对UHPC微观结构的改善作用,复合材料在200~800 s−1应变率冲击压缩荷载作用下的动态抗压强度、动态峰值应变、冲击韧度和冲击耗散能显著提高。在所有复合材料中,羧基化碳纳米管(尤其是羧基化短碳纳米管)复合UHPC的抗冲击性能普遍优于普通及羟基化碳纳米管复合UHPC,甚至超过高掺量的钢纤维复合UHPC。
